Functional Nutrition Counseling
grounded in functional medicine and holistic nutrition
What is functional nutrition?
Is it right for you?
Functional Nutrition gets to the root of your health concerns by examining how your unique body systems work together, what external factors are at play, and how we can adjust and refine your diet and lifestyle to optimize your health.
It's a personalized and holistic practice that uses food as a powerful healing tool, supported by scientific research, laboratory testing, and comprehensive assessments.
If you're seeking a holistic approach that goes beyond symptom management, functional nutrition offers a deeper understanding and the lasting solutions you deserve.

Frequently Asked Questions

Functional medicine combines the most up-to-date scientific evidence with a patient-centered approach to uncover the root cause of symptoms.
Body systems are viewed as deeply interconnected parts that interact together, rather than in isolation, and are therefore treated holistically.
Functional medicine uses a comprehensive approach to create personalized treatment plans that include conventional medicine, nutrition, lifestyle medicine, and preventive care. -
According to the American Nutrition Association, “The Certified Nutrition Specialist® (CNS®) is the most advanced credential for personalized nutrition practitioners.
CNSs are trained to practice science-based personalized nutrition therapy to provide health care to patients, clients, and communities. CNSs focus on identifying and addressing root causes of medical conditions and diseases and moving patients toward optimal health…
Personalized nutrition is ‘rooted in the concept that one size does not fit all; differences in biochemistry, metabolism, genetics, and microbiota contribute to the dramatic inter-individual differences observed in response to nutrition, nutrient status, dietary patterns, timing of eating, and environmental exposures.’
The CNS provides evidence-based personalized nutrition to a broad range of individuals and diverse socio-demographic populations.” -
Your dietary patterns form the foundation of your health. Optimizing your nutrition and personalizing it to meet your unique needs can help both manage and prevent a wide variety of conditions. I am especially passionate about using nutrition to support gut function and as an adjunct treatment for autoimmune disorders.
While gut health is clearly intertwined with conditions affecting the entire gastrointestinal tract, evidence shows that gut health is also associated with metabolic syndromes (like type II diabetes), coronary artery disease, allergies, autoimmune conditions, and mental health.
Please note that nutrition counseling is not medical advice and is not to be used as a substitute for medical treatment.
